Discover products effortlessly with our QR-based app designed for seniors! Simply scan a product's QR code, and our text-to-speech feature will provide clear, spoken details about the item. No more tiny print or complicated labels—just simple, accessible information at your fingertips. Empowering independence, one scan at a time!
As the full-stack developer for Voco, I designed and built an accessibility-focused application aimed at assisting seniors and individuals with visual impairments in accessing product information with ease. The project leverages QR technology and text-to-speech capabilities to promote independence and inclusivity in daily life.
My primary responsibility was to develop both the mobile application and its supporting web platform. The mobile app, built using Kotlin, enables users to scan product QR codes and instantly hear spoken descriptions of the item. On the backend, I implemented a Node.js and PostgreSQL system to manage product data and handle API communication efficiently. The Next.js dashboard was developed to allow administrators and product owners to manage catalog entries, descriptions, and accessibility metadata seamlessly.
The system emphasizes simplicity, clarity, and accessibility—ensuring that every user, regardless of age or ability, can interact with technology effortlessly. Through Voco, I aimed to bridge the gap between digital products and human empathy, demonstrating how thoughtful design and inclusive technology can empower independence for all.
